    Hi Arthur

That sedlauncher.exe file is part of Windows 10 update KB4023057 for Windows 10 which is designed to improve the speed of Windows Update Service components in your machine

"designed to improve the speed of WU"

Meanwhile my whole PC is in total meltdown... yea, no thanks. Im blocking it in my firewall and anti-malware.

Because you know what else uses maximum system resources without user permission? Malware.

The sedlauncher.exe is pegging my disk utilization at 100%. I killed it and my PC went back to normal.

If sedlauncher is used for Windows Update, why must it run when no update is taking place? That process is using 40 to 80 % of my disk access capacity. I also see more than one Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry process present now and they have rather high usage levels also. It is a concern of mine that these "improvements", which come with extra processes running will continue to add disk and CPU time such that all these improvement related additions eventually will take my computer over the top where it will no longer be usable.
