I tried every possible solution even clean install with USB stick but I always get the UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR stop code.
I've also tried installing Insider Previews with no luck.
I've tried installing 1809 in Hyper-V virtual machine and it succeeded!

Hello,
Whenever I try to run Windows Update in order to upgrade my Windows to version 1809 (actually 1803) I get the unsupported processor BSoD after restarting the computer, my current configuration is:
Model: Laptop Acer es-573
CPU: i5 5200U
RAM: 6GB
Boot Config: Legacy
I've also tried to do a clean install of build 1809, but I got the same BSoD error.
Should I wait for an updated version or is there any workarounds?

Hi Gregm
Thanks for your response.
My processor isn't very old to consider it outdated, I even tried to install 1809 on Intel CPUs who are far older than mine and I didn't encounter that problem at all.
The main problem is related to the Intel microcode update issued by Microsoft in the KB4100347 update on 9/2018 which messed up with the CPU microcode system and caused Windows to be no longer able to recognize it as a supported processor.
Kind Regards,
Islam
Even my older PC with i3-380M was able to install the latest build. Can you first uninstall that KB4100347 and then try updating to 1809?

Hi Islam. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.
If it won't Upgrade or Clean Install then the Processor may indeed not be supported any further for Windows 10 newer versions. What I'd do is block the Version Update using the Hide Updates tool by downloading it from here to check for and hide Version 1809. http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...
If The Version update is already in progress you can turn off Windows Update service to regain control:
Type services.msc in Start Search, Open Services applet.
Scroll Down to Windows Update Service and click on it, Stop service and set to Disabled. Now it should clear the queue of Version and other Updates until you turn it back on and Check again.
Uninstall Upgrade Assistant In Settings > Apps & Features.
Clear out any Upgrade folders in C: drive root.
Type "Task Scheduler" in the search bar next to the windows icon in the lower left corner. A window will pop up.
On the left hand side, click Task Scheduler Library>Microsoft>Windows>UpdateOrchestrator. Once you click on "UpdateOrchestrator", you will see a list become populated in the center upper portion of the window.
Disable "UpdateAssistant" and "UpdateAssistantCalendarRun".
Restart PC, turn back on Windows Update service, Immediately open the Hide Updates tool to Search for Updates until it shows Version 1803 Feature Update, Hide the Update.
Now you can wait until you're ready to manually run the Upgrade by installing Media Creation Tool to Upgrade Now: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...
If it still fails then you can install Hide Updates tool to block the Version Update until it matures. There are other methods to block update here too: https://www.howtogeek.com/224471/how-to-prevent...
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
