2018-11-27T19:41:05+00:00 Starting programs on my laptop often displays “not responding” messages. I also have issues when starting prgrams like Open Office, resurce monitor and Chrome. SFC.EXE with an /extention was used a few weeks ago along Thanks for responding so early. I was born on June 28, 1956. The link you have takes me to xbox requirements. My laptop does cover the *minimum requirements for Path of Exile for windows. The weakest link in my computer is the video card. I run the game at the lowest resolution. I get the login screen - pick my avatar - and launch the game. Sometimes it starts the game, sometimes I have to log in again. I have been booted back to login screen every try a few days ago. It fails occasionally when I travel the worm holes. I have used the internet today but not either of the 2 games but for email. The computer has not logged any serious errors yet today.
Ok, I tend to procrastinate. The error code popped up a couple times since then. This may be a problem from a year ago. This is a used laptop and it was wiped before I got it. These "no response" messages started popping up. I have made downloads but never kept a list of them. Then the biggest problem was how long the hard drive took before it was usable after booting up. It is fixed as far as I can tell, the same issue could be affecting this. Resource monitor shows little resources being used while it's "not responding". The fix was major - I did a refresh but it took my system back to windows 8. Took several tries and updates before updating to 8.1. I then reinstalled my programs (being more careful). Now I decided my next step is to tackle these errors.
Thank you George.
