Why are all the Microsoft recommendations so useless? Why respond to his issues if you don't have a solution? How in any way is an audio issue related to corrupted files?!

I have been using VLC to play music videos. I had set the VLC volume from the windows volume mixer to max 100% and used to change volume from inside the application. Then something happened when I was trying to change some video settings of VLC and had to 'reset preferences'. After that, somehow, the windows mixer volume level and the VLC's volume level have sort of synced and when I change one of them, the other changes with it. When the volume mixer level for VLC is not maxed, it does not give a proper audio output to my speakers and the base is too low. When I change it to max, the VLC application volume goes to max as well and it is too loud. Is there a way to make them unsynchronized again? I have check all the audio settings in VLC and did not find the solution so I thought it might be done from the windows audio settings. I know this is a very unusual problem but please help me.

I fixed the error myself. I changed the output module from automatic to DirectX audio output. Works perfectly now. Thanks anyway.
Hi,
Apologize for the delay in reply. Appreciate your efforts to work on this issue.
Suggest you to run the SFC scan utility tool on the computer. System File Checker is a utility in Windows 10 that checks for system file corruption. If need be, then you can also run the DISM command to restore the health of the system files.
Further, you may also want to create a new user account and check if that helps.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I have already tried reinstalling VLC but it did not solve the issue. I have even tried reinstalling my audio drivers but it did not work either. I have the same problem with windows media player. Hence, I posted my problem in windows community instead of VLC's. I would also like to add that I do NOT encounter this problem while watching videos on Youtube on my browser. Please help me out. Awaiting your reply...
Hi Salman, thanks for your question.
What a strange problem! While you could play around with VLCs settings, I'd recommend reinstalling VLC as the quickest and easiest solution.
Then you can reinstall VLC:

This should resolve the issue. If it doesn't, we might need to investigate Windows system files, but we'll try that after the VLC reinstall.
Let me know how you go!
