Hi, I have a laptop with an OEM version of Windows 7 (sold with the laptop). Due to performance issues, I decided to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows. I didn't have any media, so I had to download one. It worked fine, but the online activation failed and because I was busy, I kind of ignored it. The date to activate has now expired and I don't see the window with the phone number option anymore. My options are fairly limited:
This is the report produced by the diagnostic tool. I have tried going through the customer service helpline to eventually get through to the activation line but it asks me for the 6 or 7 digits blocks on my screen, which I don't have... Can anybody help?

Is this what you did?
Download the correct ISO file and make your own disk and use the Product Key that is on the COA Sticker.
Download: Windows ISO Downloader.exe
Version: 6.00
Release Date: 11 April 2018
Requirements: Windows 7 or newer, .NET Framework 4.x, Internet Explorer 8 or newer.
Important: As of Version 6.00, we're adding back an experimental feature to generate links for Windows 7 and Office 2010. Generation of new links for these products is throttled, and not every download is always available in every language. New links are generated on a first come first served basis, with users who enable the idle resource donation getting preferential treatment. If you have further questions, please use theWinCert Forum to get in touch, so that other users can also benefit from the discussion.
And here are instructions on how to burn ISO images to disk:

You change the Boot Order in the BIOS to be able to boot from your installation media:

Then do a clean install:

The COA sticker is either on the underside of the Laptop or in the Battery Compartment.
With a Desktop it is either on the side, rear or top of the Computer Case.

Using the downloaded ISO file Method may require phone Activation.
If it does require phone Activation, do not follow the Auto Prompts, but hold on for a real person to explain to as to what has been done for re-installation purposes
"How to Activate Windows 7 by Phone"

The above method also will require you to go to your Computer Manufacturer's website > Support and Downloads Section > locate your Model Number and Operating System > then download and install the latest Drivers for it.

Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way
Cheers.
I can't quite remember where I downloaded the media from, but I made sure it corresponded to what I had on the laptop beforehand (Win 7 Pro). Yes, I did have to make a bootable USB stick to install it. I did have a number of drivers that were missing after re-installation, so I had to download and install the necessary drivers.
Anyway, I tried phone activation one more time and when prompted to enter the first block of 6 or 7 digits of the installation code, I did nothing and waited. After being prompted a few times, I was eventually offered to speak to a real person and he did a remote session my computer and I believe this is now fixed, although I'll wait for a few days before confirming it for good. I have been given a case ID with Microsoft in case I need to contact them again.
