contact your Internet service provider for getting new DNS server address and after that, read the user manual of your router or modem to change the DNS in modem

    Please stop sending unhelpful suggestions!

There is nothing wrong with my modem, it works with all my other computers and including my families apple products, I guess I should join apple products now.

It is plan and simple Microsoft forces changes onto our computers and it is not compatible with this computer and many other out there. I am done with Microsoft and windows 10!

    Hi Florence,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

Try the following steps and check if it works.

    • On the Startscreen, type CMD. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt, and then select Run as administrator.
    • At the command prompt, enter the following command, and then press Enter: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

    Note:

If you don't want to specify a directory path for the log file, run the following command instead:

    netsh int ip reset

    • Restart the computer and check if it works.

    Hope it helps.

I tryed both sugestions and it did not help, I noticed both times this

    Resetting , failed.

    Access is denied.

The problem with the no wifi and no bluetooth started  September after a forced up grade that I could not roll back.

or restore or image restore my computer without errors. I have tried everything suggested on the Microsoft site.

I have had 3 Microsoft tec's on my computer with no improvement. Two said they would call back but no response. This computer is an HP desktop that came with windows 10 on it and I have to say it is nothing but a night mare. all my other laptop, note book and smart phone work fine. I have worked on many different  windows over the decades and never encounter such incompetence from Microsoft.

Hi Florence, thanks for your question.

Would you be able to provide more information? What is your network setup? Are you seeing any errors?

The fact that your IP address begins with 169 tells me that your network is disconnected for some reason, maybe not plugged in or a problem communicating with the router.

    You could try the troubleshooter:

    • Click Start and type "troubleshoot"
    • Select Troubleshooter
    • Click Internet Connection in the list.

This will reset your network adapter and try other troubleshooting steps. It may fix the issue. Otherwise, please confirm that your router is functioning correctly and is broadcasting WiFi.

If you're still having issues, please let me know! Thanks!
