Stop Running this Script in Internet Explorer 11, Windows 10

I am getting a "Stop running this script? error code in Windows 10, Internet Explorer 11.

A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly.  If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive.

How do you get rid of this?

    Art,

Not gonna lie, that was a bit of a curveball! Can you provide a screenshot of the dialog box you get? Another thing I can recommend is to go into the Registry Editor (Windows key + R > enter: regedit.msc) and navigate to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Be sure SuppressScriptDebuggerDialog is set to 1, Disable Script Debugger and DisableScriptDebuggerIE are set to: yes

    Keep me posted.

    Hey Art,

Fortunately there's a solution for you. In Internet Explorer, go into Internet Options (gear icon on top right of the window, or you can look up Internet Options in the Start menu).

Then go into the Advanced tab, check the following:

    • Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)
    • Disable script debugging (Other)

And uncheck: Display a notification about every script error

Hopefully this'll help. Let me know if this does the trick for you, good luck.

    Hello Ethan,

Unfortunately, when I went out there both of the disable script debugging items were selected and the display a notification about every script error was already unchecked.

I did not change anything, this is how it was.  I was sure your solution was going to work.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

    Thank you!

    Ethan,

I wanted you to look at this script error before I changed the registry.

    Art,

Gotcha, no need to change the registry then since I found a Fix It article that may make quick work of this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/175500...

Keep me posted, Art, thanks for hanging in there.
