Custom mouse cursor problems

Hi,

I've recently downloaded some custom mouse cursors from Open Cursor Library and once I applied them they looked great. But, as soon as I used the touchscreen the cursor disappeared and would not show up until I went back into the pointer settings and reapplied them with the touch screen. I am not willing to give up using my touch screen for a cool mouse cursor, but would greatly appreciate it if there was a solution to my problem.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Appreciate your efforts to work on this issue.

I can understand the situation must be difficult for you when the system doesn't work as it should.

Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

    1. Is the issue specific to that custom mouse cursor?
    2. Are you able to see the normal cursor while using the Touchscreen?

Ideally, when you use touch screen, mouse cursor will not be visible.

Reply with more information to help you further.

    Hi,

Apologize for the delay in reply and appreciate your efforts to work on this issue.

Follow these methods one by one to check if that helps.

Method A: Change the Mouse pointer settings:

    1. Open the Mouse properties screen.
    2. Type 'main.cpl' in the run window.
    3. In the Pointers settings, select Enable pointer shadow and click OK.

Method B: Display mouse pointer shadow in System Properties.

    1. Open the System window by pressing Windows key + Pause Break, and then select ‘Advanced system settings’.
    2. Click Settings in Performance to continue.
    3. In Visual Effects, choose ‘Show shadows under mouse pointer’ and tap OK.

Further, as the issue occurs after installing the custom cursor fonts, you may also want to contact the cursor developer support team to check if there are any known issues.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Srimadhwa B

Thank you for responding so soon. I've tried other types of mouse cursors from Open Cursor Library and all of them had the same problem. This situation is different from when you normally use the touch screen with the default Windows cursor because once the mouse cursor disappears from using the touch screen, even after you move the mouse around, it won't reappear. The cursor is still there because I can still select things, but it is just invisible.
