Hello,

To fix this issue, first try to disable optimal resolution with these steps:

  • Right click on the on the empty area on the Desktop.
  • Select Graphics options > Balloon Notification > Optimal Resolution Notification > Disable.

Referenced from https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-other_settings/disable-optimal-resolution-check-and-notice/c1a88b4b-9b45-47c8-a5cf-486d2062f90e.

If issue still persists, try setting your display resolution to Recommended level:

Hope this helps!

Is this pop up displayed on the Desktop or on the Taskbar ?

If it's on the Taskbar and your machine uses Intel HD Graphics if you have the Tray Icon enabled in the Intel Control Panel Preferences section

this also makes it possible to enable or disable 'balloon' notifications.

(Intel Control Panel > Options and Support > Preferences)

I don't know if this actually is what is resetting your games resolution though. Having the balloon notification enabled didn't

affect the couple of low res games I tested.

For that kind of notifications, you can manage it by 'Notification and action' like display in this video

Have you gone to Settings, System, Display and looked at display settings?
