I can't be sure what the message means without knowing what is says.

In general, for a web browser, a 'secure connection' means an encrypted connection. It's very important to have a secure connection to a website to ensure that third parties cannot see and tamper with the data going to and from your browser. For example, if you're sending confidential information to an unsecured website, like your credit card data to an online store, the data can be stolen by a third party.

To see if you have a secure connection, look at your browser's address bar: The URL begins with https - the 's' means 'secure.' In addition, web browsers put a symbol before the URL to indicate that the connection is secure. In Google Chrome, for example, the symbol is a lock. You can click on that symbol for more information.

By now, most websites are secure, but some are not. It's always safer to browse with a secure connection. Unfortunately, many otherwise secure websites include content from third parties, usually advertising, that is not transmitted securely.

    What is a PIA extension.

I manually cleared the cache just to be sure.

The message and failure occurred immediately afterwards.

    Hi nevillematthews1,

I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

You should clear the browser's cache and then try. You can also try following

    1. Alternative browser
    2. Incognito mode of the browser

To clear Cache, cookies and browsing history for most popular browsers

    Edge

Click 3 horizontal dots on top right > Settings > Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data

    Chrome

Click 3 vertical dots on top right > More tools > Clear browsing data

    Firefox

Click 3 horizontal lines on top right > Options > Privacy & Security > Scroll down and Clear Data under Cookies and Site Data

Scroll down and Clear History under History

Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.

    Hi Neville!

    Welcome to our community.

This is Leocadia, independent community expert, and I am glad to assist you today.

Sorry to hear about this situation. We would like to help you promptly.

I would recommend performing a full system scan using Windows Defender.

Also, please confirm if you're using any third-party antivirus.

Another workaround I could recommend is to configure your Internet Options.

Open IE11 > Settings/Tools (press Alt+ X) > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN settings > tick Automatically detect settings > untick the check box under Proxy server > OK to save changes made
