    Hi roysantucci,

I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

    1. This is more likely to be a hardware issue or CD/DVD issue. Please check your CD/DVDs are not scratched and in good shape.
    2. Try to clean your CD/DVD with a clean cloth to remove dirt etc. Also clean the lens of the CD/DVD drive.
    3. It is better to use VLC Media Player which has all the codecs required and will play all the audio and video files.

    To download VLC - https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.
