I installed windows while I was on legacy mode, (I didn't realize that I couldn't turn on bitlocker from legacy mode) I now want to turn on bitlocker, so I went into the UEFI, and tried to turn off legacy mode, it turned off, but when I tried to boot, it failed, I have tried booting into safe mode, also doesn't work, I put it back and it works again, is their any way I can get UEFI to work to boot into windows without reinstalling windows

    Hi GaviSc

When you installed Windows 10 in Legacy BIOS mode, that drives partition style was set to MBR

UEFI Boot requires the partition style to be GPT, that is why your system would not boot when you turned on UEFI Secure Boot

There are applications that can change your hard drive form MBR to GPT and they claim to do that without any data loss, then you would be able to switch BIOS over to UEFI

Honestly, I think the whole process is fraught with the possibility of data loss and the only way I would swap over is by backing up your data and clean installing Windows 10 in UEFI mode . ..

hi, this one also cost, I think I will just do a fresh install, thanks

Why go for a fresh installation? As I mentioned before, BitLocker works perfectly well with legacy systems, provided you use NTFS instead of FAT partitions.

AOMEI Partition Assistant advertises it will convert MBR to GPT without any data loss.  I'm sure there are other non-windows partition programs that will offer it too.
