Hello:
I am a VBA programmer, but want to expand to VB.Net. It is not clear to me if I have to purchase Visual Studio, or if I can just purchase VB.Net in a standalone application. The price of Visual Studio is above my budget.
If VB.Net is available, where can I purcahse it, what version is current, and how much does it cost?

When you look at the page that DSPatrick provided you will see that Visual Studio Community is free for individuals like you. It is a massive tool that Microsoft was charging over a thousand dollars for. Its complexity is intimidating but there are many tutorials and other resources to learn from.
