Lumia 640 LTE charger

I cannot charge my phone, it keeps giving me the critical low battery, it works plugged into the wall but won't charge.  If I push hard the charge sign comes on but as soon as I let go it stops. Is this the charger and just needs to be replaced? Or is it the connection inside the phone & doomed!

    Thank You Jack, I've ordered another charger, should be here tmrw, I have tried the blowing etc and still doesn't work.  I've always had problems with charging from the get go, wriggling it about to charge so I'm assuming it's a bad charger.

    It may not be the charger but rather the port at the phone itself. It would be good if you could find a charger that would fit your phone and try it first. Just my thoughts...

    Just another quick question, I've seen the posts about Windows 10 & this phone, from what I've read it appears that I cannot install Windows 10, is that correct?  I have tried various other ways to no avail.

    It could be the charger or a bad battery. Make sure where you plug it into the device is clean. Blow it out with air if you can. Try a different charger that you know works to see if it makes a difference. I think it will be a trial and error process.

    It just seems to me without seeing or trying it, it might be some lint (or something) preventing it from seating correctly since you can push on it and it charges.
