Windows 10 Remote Desktop to Windows 7 - NLA error

Has anyone gotten an authentication error when trying to remote from a Windows 10 Pro tablet to a Windows 7 pro desktop.

Both have remote access turned on.

I checked to see if the RDP was allowed through the firewall and it is.  Ran security updates on both machines. Any ideas?

    Hi,

I am Ganesh Gandhi, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

To remote connect from a Windows 10 Pro tablet to a Windows 7 pro desktop:

I recommend using Microsoft Remote Desktop assistant for your tab

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/detail...

Check if win 7 is configured for Remote desktop as in image below:

Do let me know if you require any further help on this. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Yes we are having more users coming in with the same issue.  I'm wondering if a recent Windows update might have caused the issue.  It's now happening when people try to remote into their desktops on their home networks when they have previously been able to.

I never use RDP and know very little about it. But I recommend that you download and use the free TeanViewer (https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/download/windows/) intead. It's very easy to use and works very well.
