Has anyone out there found a replacement yet for Windows Picture it 9 or 10. I have had Picture it 9 for a long time and now due to  a scam and my computer had to be worked on , I lost Picture it 9.  I didn't know there was a picture it 10. It sounds like they both were alike.  I want mine back. I was told that it is not compatable with windows 10. Thank you very much.  I sure would like it if Microsoft would make a new Windows Picture it 9 but for Windows 10. I have a lot of things on it.   Thank you

    Hi Nancy

There is no direct replacement for Picture It 9 beyond modern photo editors such as Adobe Photoshop Elements, the built in Photos app in Windows 10 or the older discontinued Windows Photo Gallery 2012 which you can still download.

You can download and install it from the Windows Essentials 2012 suite:

or if you still prefer using Picture It! You could try obtaining a copy of its last successor, Digital Image Suite 10 and use the steps to install it:

or install your existing copy of Picture it 9 in a Virtual Machine under a compatible version of Windows, such as Windows XP 32 bit:

Hi Nancy, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to help.

Microsoft Picture It is very old, over 20 years old in fact. It definitely won't work with Windows 10.

Picture It was replaced with Microsoft Digital Image, which is also discontinued. The Windows Photos app contains the functionality of Picture It now, so if you'd like to perform the same functions with Windows 10, I'd recommend the Photos app.

Here's a link to Microsoft Support that will help you use the Photos app:

Please let me know if you have any further questions! Thanks!

Thank you,  but I still wish I could use the Photo It, no matter how old it is. I make cards for the shut in people at Church who can't get out to Church.

I have been teaching myself to use something on Windows by just adding pictures to the paper and so far it seems to be working.  There are some photo programs on windows 10 that I would like to know how to make a card out of but can't seem to find out how.  I make the kind of card that you put pictures and  a note in each of the 4 corners of the paper and fold it like it was a card.I haven't figured out how to put the pictures on each corner of the paper yet with the programs on Windows 10.  But now I know that all the Windows 9 and same as were all discontinued never to be used again. That program had everything at my finger tips. This new stuff on Windows 10 you have to go to  insert photos then pick from your photos or online photos. then move it around to where you want it, then you go back and click insert again,  if you want to add words to the card get a text box to put it in, pick what font you want and write it in the text box, move the text box to where you want it near the photo.  If it is upside down turn it around.  Click and hope that you got the right box so that only the box goes away and the text will stay.   There has to be an easier way. Because I am doing this with word and not  a picture program.  This way I can put this on a page and fold it like a card. If I use the picture programs or software that came on the windows 10 I don't know how to put it on paper I can't seem to find anything to show me or tell me how to do that.  I know this is long but I don't know how to explain it any better. But this is what I am doing to make my cards for the Church shut ins., now that I can't use picture it 9.  Thank you for reading about my problem. I have been looking the other photo programs over that came with Windows 10 to see how you can put your pictures on paper and fold it like a card, but I can't seem to find out how to do that. again , thank you   Nancy
