Miracast to Samsung TV

Hello,

I am trying to connect to a wireless display/TV (Samsung 55" Q7F). When i go into the wireless displays menu to project my PC the TV does not appear as an option. However I can see the TV under 'other devices' - this does not provide a Miracast connection.

A directx diagnostic report confirms that my 6600k CPU and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 Wi-Fi adapter are Miracast capable. Wi-Fi is on and both the TV and my PC are connected by ethernet cable.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why i cannot see my TV under the wireless displays menu?

Thanks

    Hi Greg,

    Thanks for your response.

    The windows club:

    1)      My Dxdiag report states “Miracast: Available, with HDCP”.

    2)      My TV does not appear when I go to add a wireless display.

    3)      All my drivers are up to date.

    4)      I am not using a miracast adapter I have an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260

    PCWorld:

    1)      As in the Dxdiag report, my system is capable.

    2)      My TV is miracast capable I have a Lenovo yoga 2 pro (Windows 8.1) that can miracast successfully.

    Samsung.com

    1)      Using Smart View on my Samsung mobile device works perfectly with my Samsung TV.

    2)      My PC is not listed as a previously connected device as I cannot currently connected this PC to the TV.

    Samsung Forum

    1)      I disconnect my VPN, I am still unable to see the TV in my list of available wireless displays.

    2)      The TV is on the live TV input. Not any HDMI or other input.

    3)      The TV firmware is up to date.

    4)      All the other advice seems to be referring to mobile devices?

    Miracastwindows10.com

    1)      The method described in method 1 is what I am trying to do. However, my TV does not appear in the wireless displays menu.

    2)      Method 2 – I don’t want to use chromecast, I would like to use miracast direct from my PC.

    3)      Method 3 – The Samsung smart view app does not work either. It can see the TV but when I try to select this it just states “There was a problem. Please try again.” – I have tried many times.

    Superuser.com

    1)      My wireless card drivers are up to date.

    2)      My graphics card drivers (both iGPU and GPU) are up to date.

    3)      I have verified other products work.

    4)      I have verified my system is Miracast capable.

    5)      Entering “netsh wlan sho d” into command prompt confirms that Wireless displays are supported (Graphics Driver = Yes, Wi-Fi Driver = Yes).

    6)      As previously confirmed I have already checked my TV has the latest updates.

    7)      I updated the BIOS for my motherboard – the TV is still not visible under wireless displays.

    8)      I cannot see Miracast devices in device manager.

    9) I am running Windows 10 1803.

I am still unable to detect my Samsung TV in the wireless displays menu.
