USB headset not detected?

Hello,

I recently bought an Onikuma K5 headset for my PC (Over Powered PC, windows10 ). Whenever I plug my headset in the USB port it doesn't show up in my devices or in my audio settings. I'll have the headphone and mic jacks plugged into my computer as well, and I can't hear anything from my headset or record things with the mic. It's strange though because my PC recognizes that the mic jack is occupied and won't play sound through the speakers but it won't play through the headset either. I'm at a complete loss at what to do, and I feel like I've tried everything at this point. I've tried showing disabled/disconnected devices in my sound settings and nothing shows up. I've tried my other two USB ports as well and nothing is reading.

Thanks for your time, I hope to hear back soon.

I already have an adapter, the headset has USB, mic jack, and audio jack. The USB isn't reading at all on my computer when it should be pretty much plug and play.

Windows 10 is up to date, so I'm not sure what's causing this issue. I've tried showing disabled / disconnected devices and nothing is showing up when the headset is plugged in. I've tried booting windows 10 and waiting to plug the headset in, and still nothing. All my drivers are up to date.

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: control

    Hit Enter

    Open Sound

Select Headphones under the 'Playback' tab

Select a device and click properties.

Select Advance Tab. Disable Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

Repeat this for all audio devices.

Restart your pc and check if the issue persists.

Also, under the 'General' tab, click in the Device usage list box.

    Choose 'Use this device (enable)

    Click Apply then OK

    Hi rudewerewolf

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

Its possible the USB connection is not intended for that purpose. Try obtaining a 3.5 mm adapter that connect headsets and microphones.

    It should work then.

    1. I would recommend that you perform a Windows 10 repair upgrade. Repair upgrade fixes all Windows errors and retains all files, applications and settings. (You will not lose any data while backup is a good idea) Below is a good guide to perform repair upgrade
