Hi Larry
Click your Start Button, then just type ie
Does Internet Explorer appear in the resulting list?
If so, right click that and choose 'Pin to Taskbar'

Yesterday my IE icon disappeared from my task bar and I can not retrieve it. The IE Program is still on my computer but I can not find a way to access it. I have used IE for many years and do not want to switch some other Program that takes up a lot of screen space and is awkward to use, besides I have the tool bars with the icons that I use most often. Can anyone tell me how to recover my IE icon for placement in the task bar? I am running the most recent updated windows 10. Hopefully if there is a reply I can find a way to read it because my email opens in the tool bar on IE.
Thanks, Larry

Hi Dave,
No. IE is not there, however i was directed to File Explorer which came up with 2 files:
iecompatdata.xml appdata\local\microsoft\internetexplorer the next one is
" " " microsoftedge\share
I have also went into settings for web browser and reset to Internet Explorer.
I have no idea what is going wrong.
Thanks, Larry
Dave; the only thing that comes up on add a feature is a long list of foreign languages. I have previously reinstalled IE 11.

Hello Dave; I just got my IE Icon back on my task bar. Here is how I got it back: In the search window: C:\Program Files (86) Click on that and a new window opens. Scroll down and click on "internet explorer" and click on "open" in the tool bar, a new window will open then click on "iexplore.exe" then click on open in the tool bar tab. IE will open on the screen with the icon in the Task Bar. Right Click on the icon and pin it. There may be a better way to do this but it worked for me.
Have a good day, Larry
Hi Larry
Make sure your PC is on the Internet
Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)
Go to Apps - manage Optional Features
Click 'Add a Feature', do you see Internet Explorer in the list,if so, do that to re-install Internet Explorer . . .
