Automatic Repair Error Srttrail.txt

I recently got the error that my computer could not automatically repair C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt . I ended up clicking the option to resume Windows 10 and restarted it 3-4 times, and it seemsthe issue is gone, however, I was wondering if I should still worry about this issue and try and fix it asap. I read that the command chkdsk/f/r can help check for any corrupted sectors, however, has the possibility to delete any data in that sector. Does this error happen due to malware or anything of the sort? Or is there a specific thing that causes it?

    Hi MichaelZh1

    That error is aused by a Windows update not completing correctly, rest assured you do not have malware on your PC.

    Since you have managed to repair your system so it boots correctly, you have nothing to worry about and there is nothing much you can do, this may never happen again on your PC - but with these updates, nothing is guaranteed . . .

    Perform the procedure to repair the system files:

    Follow these instructions: press the Windows + X keys and select Command Prompt (Administrator) or Windows PowerShell (Administrator), in the window that will open, you must type the commands in their respective order:

    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    • DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

    • sfc /scannow

    Each of these actions can take a few minutes, so it is important to execute one at a time. When finished, you must restart the PC.

    To know what exactly is causing the crashes, I need to analyze minidumps.

    Go to C:\Windows\Minidump

    Zip the contents of the folder corresponding to date and time of your crashes.

    Upload the content to Onedrive or any other file sharing site for me to locate the problem

    Hi Mays,

    After doing the first command you suggested, this is what showed up:

    PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool

    Version: 10.0.17134.1

    Image Version: 10.0.17134.590

    [==========================100.0%==========================] No component store corruption detected.

    The operation completed successfully.

    Does this mean that I do not have a component corruption? If so is there I reason I only got the Srttrail.txt error once? And is there something I might have done when resuming Windows 10 that fixed it?

    Power on and off your computer three times
    

    How do you do that?

    Power on, when you see the Windows Logo - power off

    Power on, when you see the Windows Logo - power off

    Power on, it will then your computer will boot into the Advanced Recovery environment

    You might be asked to sign in with your Microsoft Account or Local Account password.

    Click Advanced Options

    Click Troubleshoot

    Click Advanced Options

    Click System Restore, see if you can go back to an earlier time.

    If not, boot into the recovery environment again, then try performing a startup repair.

    Perform the startup repair a couple more times then restart again to see if you are able to boot to the desktop successfully.

    If that does not work, boot into the recovery environment, then click 'Go back to previous version of Windows'

    If that does not work.

    Power on and off your computer three times

    On the third time, your computer will boot into the Advanced Recovery environment

    Click Advanced Options

    Click Troubleshoot

    Click Reset this PC

    Click Keep my files

    Choose your account

    Enter your password

    Click Continue

    Click Reset

    If that does not work.

    Go to a working computer, download, create a bootable copy, then perform a clean install.
