Purchased windows 10 pro key from kinguin, how to tell if genuine?

I purchased this key for my friend to use with his PC we just built. Used with the windows installation software from a USB and we typed in the key, and it was accepted. Then the computer rebooted and because we hadn't removed the USB drive, it loaded the installation program again. We removed the drive and Windows 10 loaded like normal for the first setup, but he keeps getting the message that his copy of windows isn't genuine. I don't know if the key we purchased isn't a good one, or if we messed up when we rebooted after the install was supposedly complete. Maybe after we used the key it was no longer valid and we lost it after the reboot? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi TactiaclBredom

Kinguin are renowned for selling volume licence Windows 10 product keys at a much reduced price, there have been thousands of users here on Community with the exact same problem with a licence key purchased from Kinguin

It is not Kinguin at fault, but the people selling on Kinguin . . .

Those licence keys will initially activate, but will automatically deactivate soon after, because they need to be re-armed by a company Key Management Server

Hi TacticalBoredom, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to help.

The only legitimate places to buy Windows 10 licenses are from the Microsoft Store or from a licensed Microsoft dealer. Kinguin is a grey market reseller and isn't a legitimate reseller of Windows 10 or any Microsoft products.

I suspect that's why your Windows 10 license isn't activating. You'll need to purchase a license through the Microsoft Store or another licensed reseller. Here's a link to the Microsoft Store page:
