    Hello,

Try these steps and see if it helps:

    Open Registry Editor.

    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\AU.

In right pane of AU registry key, set UseWUServer to 1.

Reboot your system and verify if the problem is resolved.

After issue is resolved, restore UseWUServer to 0.

    Hope this helps!

Note: It is recommended to create a System Restore point before editing registry.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums

Please note that it usually depends on the internet speed as when you choose Developer Mode, the features are downloaded. If the internet speed is slow it may take a while to download and you will the dots circling.

If it is still stuck on 'searching for developer mode package', then I would suggest you to create a new user account and enabling the developer mode in that account as there is a possibility that some of the user account components are corrupted. I would also suggest you to check for any pending updates.

    Regards,
