hi everyone, I have a Harman Kardon Aura studio 2 speaker, when I connect the speaker to my laptop, the stereo speaker disables as soon as I test the sound and it goes to the hands free mode, what should I do?

    Hi:

I'm running Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron 5749. I paired it with a Soundcore Flare wireless speaker a few months ago and it worked fine. In the past couple of weeks, though, the sound quality is muffled and tinny.

When I check the Properties in the Sound settings, the device shows as a hands-free headset rather than as a speaker, and in the Advanced Properties tab, the only sound setting is 1 channel, 16 bit, 8000 Hz, but is greyed out, so I can't change it.

When I disable the telephony feature, the laptop stops communicating with the speaker, so I get nothing.

The speaker itself is fine. When I connect it to my iPhone 8, the sound is clear and loud.

Is there any way to get Windows to recognize the speaker as a speaker, rather than as a telephone?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Please help me with the following information:

    1. Which version of Windows are you using?
    2. From how long are you facing this issue?
    3. Were there any recent changes made on your computer?

Meanwhile, please try these troubleshooting steps:

    1. Try to connect the Harman Kardon Aura studio 2 with another device.
    2. Click on the Audio/sound Icon on the right hand side of the task bar and make sure that it shows Harman Kardon Aura studio 2 or Bluetooth speakers.
    3. Update Bluetooth drivers. Here is an article on how to Update drivers in Windows 10

    Hope it helps.
