Hi,

I encounter problem with installation of new programe. Error message reads:

Registry failure on key: CLSID {F380E974-15FF-11D0-96F1-00C0A84E43AB}

I searched in Registry Editor and found the following value  is not set.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{F380E974-15FF-11D0-96F1-00C0A84E43AB}

Can anyone help me as I'm not IT person. I'm using Windows 7 64 bits.

Thanks

    HI Fred,

    If you dont have does it mean it is not essential and I can delete it?

    I do not know if it is essential. On the other hand, deleting it is dangerous. Much safer to rename it by adding the suffix .bad. This has the same effect as deleting it but it leaves you a back-out path.

    If you search the registry for {F380E974-15FF-11D0-96F1-00C0A84E43AB} then you would find where else it is used.

    Can any kind soul who is using Windows 7 look into their registry for  KEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{F380E974-15FF-11D0-96F1-00C0A84E43AB}

    I'm just thinking if I can copy the binary data into my registry may work?

    Unfortunately this key does not exist on my Win7 PC.

    Maybe the installation will work when invoked with elevated privileges.

    This is probably a question you need to put to the software supplier.
