I am connected to my private network by USB however in the list of networks available there are at least 3 listed as "Network" including mine.

How can I change the network name to, say, the name of my device?

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Connect Phone and PC

    Hi

I´m an Independant Advisor for Microsoft Community

I will try my best effort to help you.

You need to login your modem, and there change the network name, this name only can be change there. There is no possibility to change that in the computer

Ask your isp how to login the modem to change this.

    How to login your modem

    Check your ip gateway

Windows + R , ipconfig and see the gateway address in most of the cases this address is 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.0.254

Then put your password of the wireless password.

When you are inside Modem you can change the network name

Let me know if this help you in your issue

    Saludos

    Hi Daniel!

My name is Saylis. I am an Independent Advisor and I would very much like to help you with your problem. We will work together and we will solve it.

To change the network name in Windows 10 using the Registry Editor, follow the steps:

    1. Open Registry Editor. You can do that by pressing Windows Key + R and typing regedit and clicking OK.
    2. When Registry Editor opens you need to go to the following key in the left pane:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles
    3. Now you need go through all subkeys (they are all labeled with random numbers and letters) under theProfiles key until you find the key with that has ProfileName set as the name of your network.
    4. In the right pane, double click the ProfileName in order to change its value. Change the Value data to the desired name of your network connection.
    5. Close Registry Editor. In order to apply changes, you might have to restart your computer, or to sign out and sign in again.

    Kind Regards,

    Sally C.S

Do you have a router?  If so go to the router maker and get their software that allows you to make changes to the networks used by the router.

Hi Daniel, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to help.

You can rename your networks, but it's a little involved so I'll link you to a tutorial:

Make sure you're logged in as administrator, and if you choose to modify the registry, make sure to back it up first.

Please let me know if you need further support! Thanks!
