Windows Explorer doesn't save the viewing-details

In Windows 10, my Windows Explorer (File Manger) doesn't save the view details from one folder (directory) to another.  When I select the details I want to show, such as Name, Date modified, Attributes, Size, etc., those settings aren't save when I go to a different folder.  Even if the newly opened folder is under the first one, or on the same drive, those details aren't saved.  Is it possible to save those details for all folders?  Thanks.

    Hi Greg and DaveM121,

I tried repeatedly and unfortunately the method you guys showed me didn't work to save the columns for all folders.  BUT, I think if you apply the folder's template to all folders, it works.  So, set up the folder's columns as you like.  Then open the properties window by either right-clicking on it or from the Home tab, then the Properties button toward the right.  In the folder's Properties window click on the Customize tab, under the heading "Optimize this folder for:" select General items from the dropdown menu, then check the box for "Also apply this template to all subfolders".  Then it saves the columns for all folders.  This is for Windows 10 Pro.

    And thanks for y'all's help.

    Steve

    Hi Steve

    Open File Explorer

    Navigate to a folder

On the View Ribbon (tab), choose your preferred view

Add/remove any columns so your view is the way you like it to be

Then click the Options button at the end of the View ribbon

On the View Tab on the resulting dialog, click 'Apply to folders'

    Click Apply and OK

That should make all folders have the same view . . .
