How to change metadata provider in Windows Media player

How do I change the preferred metadata provider back to Fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com, from SSL.xboxlive.com? ssl does not show half the info that fai did, and there is no way to change any info, such as album, track info, year, etc.

***Modified Title from: Windows Media Player preferred metadata service***

    Hi John,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern and we appreciate the time and effort that you have taken to research and performing the registry changes regarding the issue. However, we would suggest you to provide your feedback and suggestion in Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app as MusicMatch-ssl.xboxlive.com is the latest service to update metadata of albums. Going forward, you may be unable to view information (metadata) such as the title, genre, and artist for songs, and the director, actors, and cover art for movies in Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player. After looking at customer feedback and usage data, Microsoft decided to discontinue this service. This means that new metadata won’t be updated on media players that are installed on your Windows device. However, any information that’s already been downloaded will still be available.

You may also want to refer Changes in metadata service affecting Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player for more details.

    Regards,

    052819  Good day!

I just read your replay/response to John's inquiry. See below.

It was a GREAT Service. I am overwhelmingly saddened Microsoft has discontinued a service, again, that has provided their customers. clients, and followers of many, many years, such as myself, since , the powers that be, decided to drop a service for whatever reason.

Will you PLEASE tell/explain to me how a service is dumped? Not wanting to put words in your mouth.  It's outrageously aggravating to be using a service that has served my needs so well for so many years to be dropped and left with little to no competing choices.

Another "You Suck!" goes out from my many clients who also have been using this service. "Microsoft has left us high and dry again!

Many of my clients are older generational people.

Where can I tell my clients to go on the internet to find a competing software/program which will give them access to the information?

I really want to say thank you, but I find my level of disgust does not allow me to do so. However, a response will help.

    Penny

Your new stupid metadata provider does not have the option to manually edit the albums that are not in the database to update the metadata in files. Revert your metadata provider to fai.musicservices immidiately.

My thoughts exactly!  Please microsoft, give us a real reason for doing this!  I have used this service for as long as I can remember, probably 15 years.  Please return to the fai.music.metaservices.microsoft for album information.  It was so thorough, had the songwriters to some of the songs too.  I have been unable to find a similar service anywhere!
