How do I get usb 3.0 drivers onto my windows 7 system?

I've installed windows 7 on my SSD using another computer, however my progress has halted

I can't use keyboard or mouse on my newly build computer because there is no support for usb 3.0

The problem is I have no way to install the drivers on the system if i have no support for the usb 3.0

I tried mounting the drivers onto the windows 7 installation setup but I had no success. I had to extract the msi usb 3.0 driver and never could successfully get it to mount using DISM GUI.

Really stuck and frustrated, any help is appreciated

Let me know what other information is needed

Actually Intel does offer USB 3.0 follow the Intel link.

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/search.html?topicarea=Downloads&keyword=Windows%207%20USB%203.0&query=Windows%207%20USB%203.0&filters=Download%20Center

The download/software is Windows 7,however,all Intel pcs require that after the OS install, the 1st installation is the Chipset software/driver,this allows the OS to run USB/Video/Audio/etc.Also,SSD HDs require special software/drivers,plus Storage software.Win 7 uses Intel Matrix storage Mgr.

I think the issue is with the chipset.

    Thanks for this Andrew.

Just a thought and if still available in computer stores or other electronic enthusiast stores that sell computer peripherals devices.

I am just wondering if adding a peripheral device such as a  USB 3.0 PCIe 1x  Hub designed for XP /Win 7 / Vista ( if still available ) would work  considering it is a add in board with its own integrated circuit and chip set ???

There were also USB 3.0 / 4 Port Hubs to suit 3,5 inch front bays available with their own integrated circuits and chip-set .

These were all powered by direct 5 volt power from the ATX power supply  to each USB Port.

Just wondering if something like this would work just to give him access to the Mouse and Keyboard as most were plug and play and or backward compatible.

It is a hairy problem.  The problem is that the Win7 install does not include USB3 drivers.  And your relatively new Intel system does not come with USB 2 ports.

You need to either find or create a Win7 install USB or DVD with USB3 drivers slip streamed into the ISO disk or USB.

You can find the detailed instructions on how to create this here:

I know it works, I did it.  A very helpful thing to know is that you can copy the cmd strings to the clipboard on your system and then paste them in the cmd window.
