windows Lumia phone on 8.1 upgrade to 10

As per title I have MICROSOFT Lumia 640 with W 8.1. I am trying to upgrade to10. I down load ok but on installation I receive answer "can't update tried using SD card and something went wrong (0X801882c1)

What do I do?Thanks

    I recommend you buy a new phone that isnt a Windows phone. Microsoft is cutting support for Windows mobile in December 2019, and most phones already have ended receiving updates.

    I find it very difficult to update my Lumia 630 to enable me use some application, it is making me to change to android as those phones do no require freequent software ,

    I am no phone specialist by any means.  

    I am assuming you are trying to use Upgrade Advisor app from the store to upgrade to Win10 Mobile.  If I read your statement correctly , you tried to save the file to an SD card?  I don't think will work.

    I would try restoring your phone to its original state with Windows Device Recovery Tool.  (it will be like the day you took it out of the box.  Back up your phone first)

    You will need a USB to UBS-c cord and a computer.

    After the clean recovery, keep your phone setting for "downloads" set to "device" not SD

    Then download to the phone and run Upgrade advisor.  See what it says. Let your phone sit for about an hour for random apps to reload automatically from the store.  Then if Upgrade Advisor says Upgrade available, press download.

    I would think this would work.  The 640 was a win10 supported device even though support for it ended in Oct 2018.
