When trying to start Windows Audio it try's to start and then this message received:

"Windows could not start the Windows Audio Service on local computer  Error 0x80070005: Access is denied"

All of my sound device drivers are current (per Driver Booster 6) and I've tried to manually search for updates as well.  I've disabled and enabled as well as uninstalling an reinstalling the drivers but the problems remain.

I also tried to restore to an earlier time but all my restore points are missing.

I think I found and corrected my error in step 4 but will have to recheck tomorrow as the audio still won't start.

    Hello,

Error 0x80070005: Access is denied is usually related to permissions. It seems you don't have the required permissions to start the service.

    Please refer this fix:

Hi Kapil.  When I got to step 4 I didn't get the window "Select Users or Groups" but the window "Advanced Security Settings for Audiosrv.."  Did I miss a step operation somewhere?

Cristhian, thanks for all the suggestions but the problem remains.  All of the repair tools showed no problems on the scans and the Audio Troubleshooter still shows that Windows Audio is not starting.  I believe if whatever "gremlin" sabotaged my System Restore (Recovery) points hadn't done so, I might have been able to restore to an earlier time,
