What does "Casting protocol connection listener" do?

Why is it running on my PC?

How do I stop it and keep it from running?

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Windows PowerShell (Admin)

Type the following at the command prompt:

    Get-AppxPackage *micrcast* | Remove-AppxPackage

    Hit Enter

    Exit then restart.

    Thanks for your input Andre.

But I like to decide what is OK to run on my PC.

    I'm silly like that.

Do you know how to stop it and keep it from running?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Ben

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

Its a legitimate application that comes with Windows 10. I searched my system and its there too. It is likely used with services such as Miracast for projection of content to another screen.

It is safe and you don't need to so stop it.
