Dear all,

I have bought HikVision Camera from local store. The camera is connected to our network and pingable. Also I am able to access it from Internet explorer but I can install the plugin from unknown error for me.

Note: I have stopped the antivirus, turned off the POP-up blocker and smart screen.

Please help me ASAP since the supplier is claiming it is a windows issue.

    Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, you can only download the plugin from the DVR, NVR or the Camera itself.

The camera manufacture is claiming it is a windows issue.

    Dear all,

    Thank you for your reply.

Either suggestions do not solve my issue.

When I added the website to trusted zone and compatibility the website is not opening as you can see in the below attached picture.

    Hello nightearth,

My name is Brad and I am an Independent Advisor and I will do my best to assist you with the trouble you are having.

One other thing you can try is to add the local network IP address of the IP camera to both your trusted sites and the pages configured for compatibility view. It is possible that the required plugin is already installed or unneeded but due to page compatibility or trust fault, you are continually prompted to install the plugin.

To add the IP to the trusted sites list:

    1. Open internet explorer < Tools < Internet Options.
    2. Click on the security tab < Click on Trusted Sites < Sites
    3. Under "Add this website to the zone:" enter the IP of the camera and press "Add".
    4. Before clicking "close" ensure that the box for "Require service verification.." is unchecked since the local doesn't have HTTPS enabled.

To add the IP to Compatibility Mode pages list:

    1. Open internet explorer < Tools < Compatibility View settings.
    2. Under "Add this website:" enter the IP of the camera and press "Add".
    3. Close the window and reopen Internet Explorer and test the page.

Hi there I'm Peter an independent advisor, not a problem just disable the security feature, Microsoft will have this alert as your downloading executable files from the Internet. You can disable this feature:
