You may have a bad driver. There are hundreds of "driver download" web sites on the web. They are like poison. Full of malware and bad drivers. Accept drivers ONLY from the OEM of the equipment.
Make certain you have not physically turned off WiFi. There may be a switch on the PC somewhere. It could be a key combination.
Then, download the proper driver you will find from Realtek (the OEM)

Install that driver.
If you still cannot get that to work, it is likely the hardware is failing.
You can buy a plug in USB wireless device for about $20. They are tiny, portable, and frequently work better than the internal ones.
Another note: Drivers are not like other software. They should never be updated unless there is a specific problem you need to solve and it relates to that driver. Then only the affected driver. Most PCs will never have a driver update.
