How do I turn off and delete a backup?

I am constantly getting notifications that my backup has not completed. I cancelled the backup from Windows because I am using the backup software with my NAS.

How do I turn off and delete the backup so I am not constantly notified that there is a problem?

    Hi Tanya

I am an independent advisor here to help

    To delete a backup

Click on Start -------> Settings ------> Update & Security -----> Backup --------> Backup and Restore --------> Manage Space.

from here you can select any backups that are listed and delete them.

To turn off the Windows backup feature

search for control panel in the windows search bar and click on the control panel app. Choose system and security, then choose backup your computer. You should now see a link to turn off the backup schedule.

Close the interface and then restart your computer.

    Option 2:

Windows 10 does have a back up, which is what I have been using and now want to turn off.

    Whatever you say.

When you're ready to backup the real way, I will gladly introduce you to how it's done. There's a learning curve, but nothing you can't handle. You'll see how fast and easy it is to automatically backup, create and save multiple backup jobs for different purposes, maintain a rotating history of backups, and much more. And restoring a backup - which is, after all, the whole reason for backing up in the first place - is just as fast and easy.

When you have a backup that you can count on, you've got confidence. You deserve that! You never have to worry about losing your files, and you never have to reinstall anything, every again.

I am not going to argue with you, you're not being helpful, but I will point you to my original post:

"I am constantly getting notifications that my backup has not completed. I cancelled the backup from Windows because I am using the backup software with my NAS.

How do I turn off and delete the backup so I am not constantly notified that there is a problem?"

What you failed to read was that I am using the backup software that came with my NAS and I want to TURN OFF Windows 10 backup.

At present, Windows 10 does not have a supported backup utility. Not likely to get one, either.

Whether you are doing a file-and-folder backup or an image backup, you need to be using a third-party backup program.

Windows 10 does have a back up, which is what I have been using and now want to turn off.
