Hi, I’m Virginia an independent advisor.

Are you running Oracle Virtualbox software? If so try downloading the latest version: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Many are complaining about this on several VB forums so it may be a bug.

Some suggestions which you may or may not have already tried so I apologies if I’m repeating those.

    Run sfc:

Open cmd prompt/powershell with admin & enter SFC /SCANNOW

Update your display driver from the PC manufacturer’s website or directly from the graphics card maker.

Try disabling your anti virus (Defender Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Virus & threat protection settings and slide Real-time protection to Off).

Turn off fast startup if enabled.

Check your hard drive for errors: https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldis... if you see Caution or Bad then the drive needs replacing ASAP.

Note: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate, safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products).

Please do not download any repair tool which is offered by this site.

Thoroughly research any product which is mentioned here before you decide to download and install it.

I’m sorry to see that you marked my reply as not helpful.

As this is a bug within that software the only answer is to report it as such to the developer.

The software isn’t part of Microsoft so if uninstalling & reinstalling doesn’t work then the devs need to fix the problem.

Do you have Avast installed? If so turn off enable hardware virtualisation which has helped others with the same problem.

If not then I would contact the software developer & report it as a bug.
