Blue Cursor? Looks like a blue tear drop.

One of my users managed to get this on their screen, I have no idea what this is, or how to get rid of it.

It is a Surface 4 with the latest update to Windows 10 Pro.

Thank you anyone who can help me.

    Hi Confused

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Devices - Typing - Hardware Keyboard

Is 'Show suggestions as I type' turned on?

If so, that is most likely the cause of that teardrop . . .

    Dave,

Unfortunately it is turned off already.

I have worked with Windows 10 since it came out.

I have never seen this before.

I see it on my touchscreen systems.  Using the onscreen keyboard may also be involved.  It is just a selector indicator and there may be two, one on each end.

    Saltgrass,

Actually yes sometimes it does show two of them, it is a touch screen, Do you know anyway to turn it off?

    S-and-S,

    IT GUY.

I don't know offhand so I will check.  But I like them because I can put my finger on one and move it.  Selecting with a touchscreen, especially a high resolution one, can be a problem.

Is your user storing their logon credentials in Windows or in their web browser? The prompt you are seeing likely comes from that credential manager.

As a matter of policy, I would not favor users storing logon credentials on their computer. It's simply not secure.
