Hi Peter
My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.
Can you try disabling Enhanced session on that particular VM and see if it still happens?
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I'm running an Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS Virtual Machine in Hyper-V and I connect to it using an enhanced session.
The VM is created using the Hyper-V quick-create and everything is working as intended.
When I connect to the VM session for the first time my keyboard layout is Danish and I can use special characters (e.g. æøå). However, every time I disconnect from the running session and reconnect again, my keyboard layout is no longer working - it is using English keyboard layout even though the Ubuntu keyboard layout is set to Danish.
The only way I can get my Danish keyboard layout working again is by restarting the VM.
Any help much appreciated :-)

This is likely a bug the engineers are not away of. I would also recommend you file a bug report; send me the short link so I can vote on it and bring it to the attention of the Windows engineers.

Hi Andre,
Thank you for your assistance :-)
The problem only happens when i use Enhanced session.
There is no problems if I turn off Enhanced session support entirely, or if I just connect to the VM using basic session.
I can see the problem already at the xrdp login screen (typing in the username field) when I connect the 2nd time to a running VM using enhanced session .
Best regards
Peter
Thanks for your Help Peter.
