Printer keeps printing documents in an inverted color scheme

Yeah so I have no clue why but when I tried printing some documents on my Brother HL-L2340D Laser Jet printer, it kept printing my documents in an inverted color scheme (black background with white text). This weird thing is, when I use the printer on other devices (A laptop running Windows 7, another laptop running Windows 10, and an iPad), it prints documents just fine. I also checked another printer that I have, and it printed just fine on there.

I have no clue why that printer just does not like my laptop, as I have both uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, and nothing has fixed it.

If you know what is going on with it, thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)

I had the same problem with my Brother printer and what I did was go in and change the print driver to Brother Laser Type 1 Class Drive and that fixed the problem.

hi everyone, I solved this issue. fixed both my laptops a hp and acer. my brother printer kept printing black background and white font.  Ink wastage and annoying.

here is the link, brother acknowledges the issue exists with window 10.

    https://help.brother-usa.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/167000/~/inverted-text-or-white-text-on-a-black-background-when-printing---windows-10

also I didn't get the update driver option. instead I got a option of choosing generic or bother.

I chose brother and then chose the most matching option.

CLASS1 LASER...   seemed like a match for my mfc l27 40dw and voila it worked.  I recommend trying all the drivers the settings suggest.

hold heart my fellow non voluntary color inverter victims.

ps. email me, I can try to help..

I just purchased a Lenovo Yoga and my Brother HL-L2305W was experiencing the same issue as originally posted. I spoke with Microsoft Chat Support, and here's how we fixed it:

    Symptom:

Docs printed inverted (black background, white letters) with a white border where the printer couldn't reach the margin. Documents printed fine from other computers, and tested fine from the machine itself.

    Solution:

    1. Uninstall Printer Driver
    2. Navigate to Brother support website https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadhowto.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=hll2305w_us&os=10013&dlid=dlf101112_000&flang=8&type3=11
    3. Download Full Driver & Software Package.
    4. Follow instructions from brother to install

    Hope that helps!
