My laptop is a (Toshiba Qosmio X500-14D) which has 3 hard disc's in NTFS do I need to format my flash stick to NTFS or leave it in FAT32 or exFAT before I add the Windows 10 Media Creations Tool 1903 to repair my laptop due to the fact that it is in a continuous loop of preparing to repair windows 10 with the small spinning circle going around & no percentage % showing up (duration lasting 15 seconds) then opens the Offline scan (duration lasting 20 seconds) then restarts and continues the loop again ???

Hi Paul. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Guardian Moderator here to help you.

You do not need to format the stick, as Media Creation Tool should do it all. Follow the steps in the middle of the download page here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

Everything possible to get WIndows 10 to start is here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

When was the last Clean Install? The reason I ask is because no one who has followed the illustrated steps in this link which compile the best possible Clean Install has ever come back (that I've seen) to report another problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki.... It is a better install than any amount of money could buy and a great learning experience that will make you permanently the master of your PC because you will know what works best and have applied it with your own hands.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to rate my post, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks again for those Links you posted above which are very useful & helpful, I was scrolling through the second link and then went back to the USB Flash disk and used the Media Creation Tool to use the

(X: Administrator windows\System32\cmd.exe) and then i tried by typing in the 3 different cmd commands in your link & this one    Bootsect /nt60 all /MBR           gave me the useful info that I need to rebuild the BCD - so I came back to your link that I was reading and came across another link How to Rebuild the BCD in Windows  so after reading that and then following it step by step which only took minutes to rebuild the BCD in windows !!! and YES it fixed the problem with my Laptop that was in a continuous loop that I could not get out of and it's now back up and running again. I now have to do a few things with my Laptop before I can finally give it a nice clean update to version (1903) but first I need to read through the first Link with all your useful info to guide me along the right path on what I should do first before installing the newest Windows update version 1903 !!!

Thank you so much for all the effort and time you spend helping everyone and supplying all the very helpful and useful info that we all need.

    Best Regards Paul.
