Windows 10 Biometrics - Fingerprint Reader

I had a Laptop with Windows 7 on it from Lenovo, a T530. It has a built-in fingerprint reader. I was using Lenovo's Authentec Fingerprint software that allowed me to boot and sign-in while shutoff. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and am having trouble. Windows' built-in Biometrics and the Authentec soft must be clashing. I can't use the reader without the software in the way that Win7 did, and Win10 has to have it setup in Settings. So I have a fingerprint in both places. I can't sign-in with the reader, AuthenTec says "Please Wait" at the sign-in screen and I have to use the pin to login, and it will no longer boot and sign-me in when powered-off.

How do I fix this? I want to boot & have it sign me in like it used to.

Windows 10 won't allow fingerprint sign-in without the data in "Settings" and Win10 will reader will not function without it.

I have cleared data from "Settings" and only used Authentec: Reader does not work.

I have cleared data from Authentec: reader doesn't work.

Clearing data from "Settings" and changing/adding is copied into "Settings"

Hello, my name is Arif Ahmed, Windows Advisor.

I would be happy to help you.

I believe this could be a driver error.

Please go to the Manufacturer's website and download the Biometric driver for Windows 10 for this PC and install the same.

After that, restart the PC and try setting up your biometrics again.

    Hi All,

Thanks Arif for having replayed. I agree with you this is a driver error.

I do meet the same issue than Troy, since I have migrated my T530 to Win10, long time ago.

Even the Biometric device is no more detected (and visible) in the device manager.

Also because This Autentec fingerprint device is integrated in the palmrest it is impossible to determine the exact model for looking for the appropriate driver

Lenovo also don't bring any help, as all drivers or software updates related to this option apply to Win7 or Win8, their assumption beeing that this product is now supported by Windows 10.

So I would be very interested to know if someone find a solution. I can't believe that the fingertip reader died when I migrated to Win10.
