On the taskbar click on the ^ and see if the icon is there. If it is drag it to where it usually sits.
Also go Settings, Personalization, Taskbar, Notification area, Select which icons appear on the taskbar. Power needs to be ON.

A couple weeks ago, that Feature Update 1903 Automatically installed which took all day. Now the Battery Icon is missing on my Task Bar. About every 3 months or so, that Battery Icon will be dropping and I would need to reset my Power Strip to get it to charge back up. Now I don't know where it is or if it is losing power. I keep my Lap Top plugged in most the time, but it will still do that where it says "Battery not charging" At like 73 %, which is when I reset my Power Strip and it then begins charging again until it says it is at 100%. I tried the directions about the Personalization Taskbar, then clicking "Select which icons appear". gave me No option there. Then I tried the Device Manager, went to Batteries, right clicked, nothing there to Disable then wait and right click again and Enable. All that is there under Batteries, is "Check for changes" & "Properties". Nothing shows under either of those. When I go to Settings and that list comes up, I click "Battery" and it says 100 %. That does not help me if it is draining down. I would not know it unless I constantly clicked under Settings and looked at it, which is a pain because I never know when it will do that. So just how am I supposed to get that icon back on my Taskbar? PLEASE. Windows 10

Hello! I am an Independent Advisor, I would love to help you out!
Is there any arrow type key to the left of the icons that show in the taskbar. If you click this it should expand and show other icons. Is the battery icon there? If so you can drag it out into the area where the other icons are and it should stay there.
Additionally I would recommend to download and run this troubleshooter:

Hope this helps!
That was the very first thing I checked. What is there is, Defender, Gameroom and Internet. Which by the way the Internet Icon also used to be on the Task Bar in plain sight, which I liked, because half the time I do not know it is my Internet down, when nothing loads, except that with it being in plain sight, I see it is down.
Now after I posted this, I got a notice from Microsoft, something about a Personal Vault, which I then set up, but have no idea how to move anything to it, but after it was set up and my screen did a refresh, NOT a Restart, just one of those things where all the Icons refresh: well, after that refresh up comes that Battery Icon. I had already done a Restart before when I was trying to find that Battery Icon, thinking maybe it just did not load.
Curious about how it happened to just show up with that but did not show up with a Restart. Needless to say, it is up now and problem is solved.
Thank You, Thagstrom for responding.
