In file explorer where I see my Documents and folders, how do I get a view in which I can see not only a folder, but the folder contents? On a Mac, I forget what they called that view, but you could click on the folder, and see the contents in the column next to that.

If you have multiple subfolders in the documents folder and you wish to see their contents also

After you have navigated to the documents folder as described above type star. *.* into the search bar on the top right

    Hi CGM707

I am an independent advisor here to help

If you open a file explorer window and in the left-hand pane navigate to your documents folder. You will see the documents folder and its location listed on the left hand pain but in the right hand pain you will see the contents of the documents folder.

Is this what you are speaking of?

    Hello again

I'm afraid that there is not a native function in Windows 10 that allows to view the contents of the subfolders at the same time that you are viewing the contents of the folder.

    Hello again

Unfortunately, there are no tweaks, hacks, or edits to be made that are officially sanctioned by Microsoft.

You may be able to find third-party tweaks or software that can enable what you are asking. however, if you do decide to take this route please be very careful and perform lots of due diligence as to the efficacy and safety of any tweak, hack or software before you use it.

It is an unfortunate fact that many of the third-party software, tweaks and hacks available on the internet do not do what they claim to do and often cause more harm than good to your system.

Yes, but I have folders within folders, and files in those folders that I want to see.
