I have the "Unlock Full Game" bug in Minecraft. How do I fix it?

I purchased the starter edition earlier today. Installed it, and it has the big button on the bottom saying I need to unlock the full game. I click on that button and it sends me to the store saying that I already own it.

I only have 1 Microsoft account.

I did a completely fresh install of Windows 10 Pro.

I tried the wsreset.exe trick with no luck.

I tried resetting the app's default in settings, and reinstalling it.

I followed a youtube video instructions about deleting some folders in local appdata and that didn't work.

I've updated my Windows 10 all the way (1903 with all patches applied).

I don't have any antivirus or firewall installed besides Windows defender (again, this is a 2 hour old installation with nothing else on it).

It works 100% fine on my desktop with no issues unlocking the full edition. Same Microsoft account.

Any ideas?

After all of this, I had to get on support with Xbox/Games for Windows support.

They took a look at my account and they said that I had too many devices on my account and it was causing problems. I went in and removed all 15 or so devices at account.microsoft.com and reinstalled the game. It worked.

I'm leaving this comment to everyone whos already tried using wsreset.exe or the powershell windows store reset method that EVERYONE mentions but doesn't work for everyone.

When I go to Library, the button says "Play". I click that and it loads Minecraft but the "Unlock Full Game" button is still on the bottom of the game.

    Hi Larry

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

    Launch the Microsoft Store

Click the ellipsis in the top right corner of the screen (...)

    Click My Library

Scroll through the list then click the Minecraft app if its listed there, then click the download button.

If doesn't help, let us know and we can explore more options.

    If that does not work...

I recommend you contact support and let them put you through a tier 2 support so they can investigate your Microsoft Account, because that is likely where the issue lies why you are having issues downloading it. They will probably as for permission to connect to your machine and investigate the problem.
