The game itself runs fine and I have no problems playing any of the recommended servers attached to the game but whenever I try to find a new server to try it won't connect.

I'm back/am one of the people ITT who had this issue:

I had to COMPLETELY DISABLE Windows Firewall/Defender to allow incoming/outgoing connections.

I had tried configuring it beforehand to allow Minecraft to have all incoming/outgoing connections, I had tried adding port numbers to server IP addresses, none of that worked.

Only disabling the entire Windows Firewall/Defender system could I then connect to other servers.

Seems like overkill/I don't like having my system unsecure for prolonged periods of time, but at least I narrowed in on what the culprit was on my end.

It may have something to do with having access to both XboxOne and Windows 10 versions

I have even tried using an IP address to connect to the pinned servers and it still doesn't connect unless I use the pinned version

    Hey there, Wlinthic

Is this Java Addition of Minecraft or Xbox Live edition

Please can you try uninstalling the game and re install the game, just in case there are corrupt packages.

    Can people connect to you?

    Regards,

I'm in the boat that I've done all of this on my PC (add both ports to my router [25565, 19132], allow the Windows Firewall/Defender to accept connections for Minecraft, and when that didn't work fully disabled it) plus ensure updated drivers and firmware with numerous restarts of both my router and computer to ensure the effects took place--- and I still can't connect to any external Minecraft servers. I can connect to the Featured ones, though...
