Hi JohnFaint ,
I appreciate you for providing details about the issue and we are happy to help you.
I know it is very frustrating when your controller acting like a mouse.
Try these methods to disable mouse functionality on your controller.
Method 1.
- Go to control panel, then go to devices.
- Click the mouse tab on the left panel. then click Additional mouse options from the right panel.
- Click the hardware tab and you should see two of "HID-compliant mouse",
- Find the one that has it's location set as AlphaMouse, then go to properties and disable the device.
Now your joystick won't move your mouse cursor, but we're not done. - Go back to control panel and go to Keyboard.
- Again find the hardware tab and you will again see 2 drivers,
- Find the one that is AlphaMouse. I was unable to disable this, but I uninstalled the device and it fixed my controller's D-Pad and face buttons from inputting keyboard functions.
Method 2.
Maybe this problem because of Steam.
- Open Steam app Menu and select ‘Settings’ option.
- In the Settings window, locate ‘Controller’ tab and when found, click open the tab
- Next, hit ‘General Controller Settings’ button and from the general settings screen visible on your computer, uncheck the ‘Xbox configuration support’.
- Unchecking this option should resolve the problem.
Do get back to us with the result. We will be glad to help if you need further assistance.
