Glad to hear it was something simple.

I am trying to get my Apple iPod Shuffle to mount on my Windows 10 Lenovo. iPhone syncs fine.
It seems no matter what I never have any drivers available in the device manager for Apple USB devices. This is after installing iTunes and iCloud using downloads direct from Apple.
I was hoping there would be a way to manually install the usbaapl64.inf or usbaapl.inf driver packages, but I have not found that solution. It seems I should start over with the installation process and wanted feedback on the best way to go. I want to maintain my itunes and my icloud setup the way it is, so my first question is do I have to worry about a new installation overwriting my current set up?
Thanks,
Henry

I used the 7-Zip program as outlined here:
In such cases it may help to extract the individual components from the downloaded iTunesSetup.exe, itunes6464setup.exe or iTunes64Setup.exe file using a utility such as 7-Zip, then install the appropriate .msi file for the missing/outdated component.
I extracted the Apple Mobile Device Support msi and the Apple Application Support and copied them to the desktop. I then ran the installers which both completed successfully.
After a restart I still do not see any Apple related devices using the device manager?
Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager>Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Update Driver Software.
• Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
• Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
• Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.
• Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
• Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
• Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver.
I hope this helps.
It may be the iPod is too old to connect to Windows 10.
I’ll check my device manager.
I always backup my iTunes folder just in case so not sure about that however I’ve reinstalled iTunes & iCloud & have never lost anything - I’ve even set up a new pc & transferred the iTunes folder over & it has continued to sync & work so I’d be surprised if you lost anything.
Thanks,
I can’t start your suggested process as there is no “Apple Mobile Device” listed in the Universal Bus Mgr section of Device Manager. That is what I need to get straightened out.
I have tried reinstalling itunes, but not Icloud yet. I also tried installing directly from the msi files after extracting them using 7-zip.
if I do a complete uninstall and reinstall of itunes and icloud will I lose my music, photo, data?
