Installing Windows 10 Pro 32-bit on machine with 64-bit processor

I have a machine with a 64-bit processor.   Quite happy to reformat the machine and set up from scratch.  I have 16-bit programs than I must run and therefore need to install Windows 10 Pro 32-bit.  Is this possible?  I can't find an answer to this question, and don't want to purchase the 32-bit operating system software if I'm unable to install it.

    Hi Greg

Your Windows 10 licence covers both the 32bit and 64bit versions, there is no need to purchase Windows 10 again . . .

The only way to go form the 64bit version of Windows 10 to the 32bit version is to backup your data and clean install Windows 10 32bit . . .

You can reinstall Windows 10 at any time, you will not need a product key, activation will be automatic and it will not cost you anything !

Since you previously had Windows 10 installed and activated on that PC during the installation process skip the steps which ask for a product key and select the option 'I am Reinstalling Windows 10 on this PC', and activation will not be an issue, your PC will have a digital entitlement stored on the Microsoft Activation Servers

Make sure you install the same Edition of Windows 10 (Home, Pro . . . etc.) you previously had installed to avoid Activation issues

    Click this link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), you can create a bootable USB flash drive (min 8GB) using that tool

Then, Boot your PC from the Installation Media you just created (change Boot Order in your BIOS) to begin installing Windows 10

    Hi Greg

That is no problem, a PC with a 64bit processor can run either the 32bit or 64bit version of Windows 10, there will be no bother installing the 32bit version on that PC . . .

Thanks for the very quick response Dave!

Just to clarify, the machine has a 64-bit processor.  Your response does not specifically address this aspect, so thought I’d best check that Windows 10 32-bit will install on a machine with a 32-bit processor

Unfortunately, the machine has an Education Version of Windows 10 installed, to which I’m not entitled, so looking to install Windows 10 Pro.

Thank you once again for your help.
