Upgrading from Windows 7 Home to Windows 10 Pro

Please can someone advise if it is possible to upgrade directly from Windows 7 (working laptop) to Windows 10 Pro using a Microsoft Windows 10 Flashdrive?  (full Windows 10 Pro flashdrive purchased from Microsoft)

I appreciate I can install a clean Windows 10 Pro installation but I wanted to see if it could be upgraded maintaining the existing programs, settings, personal data etc...

Is there any documentation on the process?

thanks...

Would you mind sharing how to do this?

We also have a way to Directly upgrade to Pro, but in my personal view above one is the best

Sorry if this appears a stupid question...

Will I need to purchase Windows 10 Home to complete the first stage of the upgrade (as this is no longer available as a free of charge upgrade)?

So I will end up having purchased both Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro to go from Windows 7 Home - Windows 10 Pro?

Thank you for the clarification. If you have Windows 7 Home here is how it goes.

You upgrade to Windows 10 Home using Media creation tool keeping everything.

When finished upgrading click Change Product key in Settings and enter your Product key.

    Hi Sumit,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

It makes no difference that I am going from Windows 7 Home to Windows 10 Pro?

I can effectively still upgrade the Windows version without losing data?

I read somewhere to upgrade I would need to upgrade first to Windows 10 Home then from Windows 10 home to Windows 10 Pro...

The software was purchased from here so I assume it would have a Product Key (the software is at my fathers)

    Hi Mark,
I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 2-Year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

Absolutely. Just plug in the flash drive and open Setup.exe in the drive.

When it is about to restart you should see a confirmation of keeping files, apps and Settings. You may see the following article from fellow Insider MVP Shawn in detail.

Just a quick question- is the product key provided with the flash drive?
Content on the above blog is written by a Microsoft MVP so it is safe. However, do watch out for the ads.
