Hey,

My pc was recently infected by a virus called shortcut virus and i saw in the internet that i have to

end a certain process in the task manager but i found a task called "gvtjpmcic.exe" and i think this might

be the problem causing the virus, but i found in the description that it is microsoft windows based script host

my question is,is this really for microsoft or just a fake description, and is it the task causing the virus?

Hi youssefyasser1,

you always may check digital signature in file's properties to see if this file is Microsoft or any other company.

If you wrote file name correctly it sure is not Microsoft.

Please run offline malware scan using Defender or any other tool e.g. Kaspersky Rescue Disk.
