yes Thinkpad t420
Displayport/HDMI Adapter
HI everyone!
I have a Thinkpad T420 and recently i bought a Displayport-HDMI Adapter for it so i can i connect it to my TV.
But it turns out that although the video is connected and clear the audio still plays on laptop instead of TV. And also that the TV shows ''DVI'' connected instead of HDMI which i assume is the problem.
Please do suggest any solution as quickly as possible.
Thanks in advance.

I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. This issue is due to display driver.
Take actions related to Display Driver as the first level of troubleshooting
Windows Key+X > Click Device Manager > Expand Display Adapter > Right click on entry below >
A. Rollback the Driver
Click Properties > Go to Driver tab > If there is rollback option, click it
B. Update driver from manufacturer's website
- Go to the website of the driver's manufacturer or computer's manufacturer > See if some driver is released for your model and OS > If yes, download that (Don't install now)
- Use DDU to uninstall current graphics driver completely and restart your computer
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-dri...
- Install the downloaded driver > Restart your computer
(Note - This may be an older driver but this will be compatible with your machine)
You will need to restart your computer after the above steps.
